The very uncomfortable, tropical-like humidity we experienced about a week ago will return next week. Flooded streets were a common sight across Wisconsin last weekend as the same type of humidity caused a multi-day rain event across Wisconsin, but mostly across Northern Wisconsin. This multi-day rain and thunderstorm event caused major flooding. It even caused concern that dams were going to fail. Flash Flood Emergencies were issued and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker even declared a State of Emergency for Northwestern Wisconsin. Although models are suggesting that it won't rain as much as it did last week, there is still concern that Northern Wisconsin haven't gotten enough time to dry out and that it won't take much rainfall to restart what we saw last week. The models are currently suggesting that there will be some rain on Monday in far Western counties of the state and those showers will stay well to the South of where the devastation occurred. Tuesday shows that there will be some heavier, more widespread rainfall across the entire state. All of this is likely being caused by the tropical-like humidity that will be returning to Wisconsin. Forecasted dew points for Tuesday into Wednesday are going to be in the upper 60s in the far North. Lower to mid 70s across a majority of the state. The further to the South you go, the higher the dew points will be. In a small portion of Southwestern Wisconsin, dew points are forecasted to be in the mid to upper 70s. Just South of the Illinois-Wisconsin border, there are dew points that are expected to reach the lower 80s. The air starts to feel uncomfortable when the dew point is 60. These dew points will be well higher than that.
